NEEDLE FELTING – TERM 3 2026. 7 week class starting 21 July

Non-Inc member cost - $45 per child, including materials

Inc. member cost - $25 per child, including materials (due to funding)

  • Tuesdays, 12:30–1:30pm – Class One – experienced (from 2025 class)

  • Tuesdays, 1:45–2:45pm – Class Two – beginner (from 8 years old)

Younger / Beginner Stage

  • A4 2D Needle‑Felted Picture Students can choose their own subject — for example, a landscape with raised mountains or trees, or an animal with shaped features to create a dimensional effect.

  • Basic Weaving Using wool yarns along with raw and carded fleece to introduce texture, pattern, and simple loom techniques. They would have to make their own base loom as well.

Older / More Experienced Stage

  • A4 3D Relief Picture Examples include a tree trunk with branches extending out of the frame, a bird perched in the branches, or a cat or frog appearing to “jump” forward. I would ask they shape and tone bark, make hair, feathers etc as well.

  • 3D Sculpture (Human Form) Students may create a gnome, fairy, or a figure of themselves etc. This project includes making clothing, hair, and accessories, giving them a wider range of skills and creative decision‑making.

  • Alternatively, students can continue to work unfinished projects that were started in last year’s class.

This is also a social time, often with field games/sport and music, running adjacent to the classes. Feel free to come along even if your children are not in the classes.

These are funded classes. To access the discounted price Inc. membership is required.

Please note: 2 needles are included, after that you will need to pay $2 per extra needle to Mrs Digby.
